The Canadian Meteorological Center and Attilla Danko provide us a prediction of astronomical viewing conditions for the next couple of days. The time of day is shown in vertical format and darker boxes in the columns indicate better viewing conditions in all four categories; cloudiness, transparency, darkness and seeing. Visibility Chart

Understanding The Visibility Chart

● Atop Wingate Hall is a sensor able to detect the campus' local weather conditions, including: ground and sky temperatures, dew point, relative humidity, wind speed, and daylight.

● The chart is updated and uploaded to this web server every ten minutes. As you can see the data is graphed over a twelve hour span, with three hours between every labeled hour.

● It is important to note that in the top portion of the graph the line graphing the sky temperature changes color when the overall visibility has changed. The four designations are: clear (white line), cloudy (yellow line), very cloudy (red line), and wet (blue line).

*Please do note that on most clear Fridays and Saturdays our observatory is open to the public.
