The Universe at Your Fingertips:
An Astronomy Activity and Resource Notebook
This compendium is an outstanding, comprehensive collection of activites that can be used in and out of the classroom. The Jordan Planetarium is making it available to educators at a substantial discount to help curriculum needs that are constantly changing and often require new knowledge that is difficult for the practicing teacher to acquire.
Curriculum developers will find it invaluable for instituting astronomy, space, and earth science units at all levels.
As a plus for Maine educators, each copy will have a short list of activities that have been coded with State of Maine Learning Results performance indicators. This was done to include the activities as extensions to our Cosmic Curriculum educator guides that go with each planetarium program. |
These are some of the section headings:
Astronomy Background
Teaching and Learning
Our Moon's Phases and Eclipses
The Planets
Scale of the Solar System
Star-finding and Constellations
