The Maine Sky

Ages 8-Adult

Discover new sights in your own backyard and look through a telescope when The Maine Sky tours the fall sky one Saturday each month at the Jordan Planetarium.

Planetarium director, Alan Davenport, presents sky legends, binocular and telescope targets of interest and planets within easy reach in a live talk forum under the dome.

Each month The Maine Sky features new information illustrated with colorful imagery and special effects while opening the door for visitors to ask questions and share their own observations.

On clear Saturday nights, the Jordan Observatory is open after the Planetarium program for visitors who want to step up and look through the eyepiece of the classic Alvan Clark  telescope.

See what is right there overhead in Maine’s night sky in this one-hour guided tour.
