Family Star Shows for Vacation Week

UMaine’s Jordan Planetarium will open its dome for vacationing students and their families to enjoy the feature programs during the school vacation break February 18-22. Four programs including an Orono premiere of Hubble Vision – Omnidome, a futuristic look at a solar eclipse and a moon program exploring Wednesday’s lunar eclipse all during the weekdays. All showings are $3 per person and seating is limited so tickets can be reserved by calling 581-1341 at least one day prior to the show. Additional presentations MAY be offered according to demand.

Special Schedule

Tuesday and Friday: Worlds of Wonder for ages 8-12 10:00 AM and Earth’s Wild Ride Omnidome for ages 9-14 1:00 PM

Wednesday: Moon Shadows for ages 9-adult at 1:00PM and public eclipse observing at the Jordan Observatory 8:30pm-midnight!!

Friday ONLY: Premiere Showing of Hubble Vision- Omnidome for ages 10-adult 7:00PM

The regular weekend showings- Moon Shadows on Saturday evenings and Follow the Drinking Gourd Sunday afternoons will be shown at their regularly scheduled times.

Ages shown are recommended based on the educational content and theme content of each show.
